The Summer Olympics is a very special time and seems to bring the world together and deserves to be celebrated. So with that in mind, we have dedicated two weeks of the Summer holidays to our Richer Adventures Olympic theme. With a variety of Olympic themed sports, games and team challenges, children will have every chance of earning one of three ‘High-Five’ certificates, showing their growth and dedication to the Richer Adventures core values.
During the week, each day will have a High-Five Focus, which children should keep in mind during activities in order to earn themselves one of three ‘High-Five’ certificates at the end of the week celebrating their growth and dedication to the Richer Adventures core values.
Today will start off with children working in groups to create their War Cry before demonstrating it during a small competition. The rest of the day will be dedicated to learning the basic rules and skills of cricket before the start of the Richer Adventures Olympic cricket competition.
High-five focus: Team Spirit and Confidence
Drums have been used in many ways throughout history and today your child will learn a little more about the drum, its role in combat, competition and have fun playing together. The children will then have the opportunity to learn some fencing skills and take part in numerous fencing games and competitions of their own.
High-five focus: Timing and Listening
Today we are lucky enough once again to be joined by former Team GB member, Ellen Watson who will guide the children in a session of Rhythmic gymnastics in the morning. In the afternoon the children will take part in a non-stop, action packed game of Ultimate Frisbee.
High-five focus: Hand Eye coordination and Confidence
Today we are once again extremely fortunate to be joined by another extremely talented athlete who will be taking the children through the basics of Table Tennis and facilitating some games between them. In the afternoon the children will take part in a slightly different but hopefully more fun version of the classic, Ball Tag.
High-five focus: Foot Movement and Resilience
At the end of our two weeks dedicated to the spirit of the Olympics. Children will take part in numerous competitions throughout the day, both as individuals and as part of a team. It is a wonderful, fun way to end the week.
High-five focus: Empathy and Respect
